Privacy Policy
Document Version: 1.0 | Last Updated: February 28, 2025 | Applies To: Pruneify
This policy explains how Pruneify processes data when you humanize ai text, run the ai text detector or ai text humanizer, detect ai content with our ai writing detector, or use the app as an ai generated content checker and ai generated text detector entirely in your browser.1. Who We Are
Pruneify is operated by [PLACEHOLDER: Legal entity name], with its registered address at [PLACEHOLDER: Full address]. For privacy-related inquiries, contact us at [PLACEHOLDER: Contact email].
2. What Data We Collect
We collect the following data:
- Contact form: Name, email address, message, and inquiry type (Contact Us, Report Bug, Request Feature) when you submit the form on the FAQ page.
- Browser storage (localStorage): User preferences (sensitivity, normalization toggles, presets) under the key "pruneify-settings"; and session data (past inputs including pasted or uploaded text, active input ID) under "pruneify-session".
- Browser storage (IndexedDB): Up to 50 history entries containing raw text, output text, and summaries of analyses in the database "pruneify-history".
- Hosting logs: The hosting platform (e.g., Vercel) may log IP address, user agent, requested path, and timestamp per its own policy. We do not add custom server-side logging of user content.
3. How We Collect It
- Direct input: Contact form data is collected when you submit the form. Tool input (pasted or uploaded text) is entered by you in the browser.
- Discord webhook: Contact form submissions are sent from our server to a Discord webhook. Discord receives and may store your name, email, message, and inquiry type.
- Client-side storage: Preferences, session inputs, and history are stored in your browser via JavaScript (localStorage and IndexedDB). None of this data is transmitted to our servers.
4. Legal Basis (GDPR Art. 6)
- Contact form: Consent — you choose to submit the form.
- Preferences, session, and history: Legitimate interest — to provide a usable tool that remembers your settings and recent work. All storage is local; we do not access it.
- Hosting logs: Legitimate interest — to operate and secure the service.
5. How We Use It
- Contact form data: to process and respond to your inquiry.
- Preferences, session, and history: to restore your settings and session when you return. We do not read or process this data on our servers.
- Hosting logs: for security, debugging, and platform operation.
6. Who We Share It With
- Discord: Contact form submissions are sent to Discord (US-based). Discord processes data per its own privacy policy.
- Hosting provider: May receive and log IP, user agent, and request metadata.
- Google Fonts: Font requests are served by Google, which may log request metadata per its policy.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking pixels.
7. International Data Transfers
Contact form data is sent to Discord in the United States. Transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or adequacy decisions, where applicable. Your browser-stored data (preferences, session, history) never leaves your device and is not transferred to us.
8. Data Retention
- Contact form: Retained by Discord as long as the webhook channel stores messages. We do not separately store contact submissions.
- localStorage and IndexedDB: Until you clear site data in your browser. You can clear it at any time via browser settings.
- Hosting logs: Per the hosting provider's retention policy.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access — receive a copy of your personal data
- Rectification — correct inaccurate personal data
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Restriction — limit how we process your data
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent
To exercise these rights, contact us at [PLACEHOLDER: Contact email]. For browser-stored data (preferences, session, history), you can clear it yourself via your browser's site data settings. EU/EEA users also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. See our GDPR page for details.
10. Children's Privacy
Pruneify does not require an account or age verification. If you are under 13 (or 16 in the EU/EEA), do not submit the contact form without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Tool use (pasting text, using the detector) does not send data to our servers; only the contact form transmits personal data.
11. Security
Text analysis runs entirely in your browser. Your pasted or uploaded text is not sent to our servers for processing. The site is served over HTTPS. We do not store your analyzed content on our servers. Contact form data is transmitted to Discord over HTTPS. We do not use analytics or tracking that would create additional data exposure. In the event of a personal data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours where required by law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will be announced on the site or via the changelog. Continued use of Pruneify after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
13. Contact & DPO
For privacy inquiries: [PLACEHOLDER: Contact email]. Data Protection Officer: [PLACEHOLDER: DPO contact if applicable, or state "We have not designated a DPO as our processing does not require one under GDPR Article 37."]
